Soprano & Actor
MY BACKGROUND
My musical training began when I was 7 years old, studying the piano and the cello. I joined my first choir aged 9 and have sung in choirs, large and small, both amateur and professional throughout my life. Professional voice training began in my native Ireland, studying with Dr Veronica Dunne and the late Irene Sanford at The Royal Irish Academy of Music, where I also completed a Diploma in Teaching and Performance (Award Distinction). I moved to London in 2002 where I studied voice with Paula Anglin and coached with Mark Packwood at the Royal Opera House.
Operatic roles have included Musetta (La Boheme, Puccini), Helen (Moonflowers, R. Arnell), Gilda (Rigoletto, Verdi), Barbarina (The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart) and Belinda (Dido and Aeneas, Purcell). I have performed on the oratorio and concert platform throughout Europe, singing with numerous ensembles including the National Chamber Choir of Ireland, the European Youth Choir and the European Youth Singers. I am a former Choral Scholar of Christchurch Cathedral Choir, Dublin, with whom I performed the soprano solo in Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Missa Brevis in C minor and Schubert’s Mass in G Major. Other solo work includes Mozart’s Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, Haydn’s Little Organ mass and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. I continue to work as a freelance singer and an actress, having trained at the Impulse Company with Scott Williams and at the City Lit, London and Mountview. I also teach the Meisner Technique, and have taught at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Fourth Monkey and for the Impulse Company. My teaching is informed by my ongoing study of the ITM Alexander Technique.
I live in North London with my partner and two beloved (and spoiled) cats.
